ABOUT HOBIYARN
Hobiyarn was established in 1995 as a family owned business based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In difficult times of transition to democracy, Hobiyarn was the first private registered retail yarn company in the country. Since the very beginning our vision was to provide beautiful quality yarns at affordable prices. Today Hobiyarn is growing, well-established company with a loyal customer base spread throughout the country, Europe and Australia. We are a brand that caters to your individual needs, accommodate to your taste and choices.
MANUFACTORING
Hobiyarn has its own small yarn product line. In our manufactory in Plovdiv, Bulgaria we create exceptional and colorful yarns that are sustainable and with ecological way of production. We use mainly raw or recycled materials for our yarns. We make cotton cords, cotton tape, macramé cords and ropes, natural wool and jute yarns.
SUSTAINABILITY
The majority of the wool used in our production is locally sourced directly from the farms. The Bulgarian sheep farm is based on gazing in outdoor areas where no kind of pesticides are used. We talk about locally sourced raw material in practice.
RESPONSIBILITY
We believe in conscious manufacturing and we use only 100% recycled cotton in our yarns. Recycled cotton prevents additional textile waste and makes it great sustainable option. 765 000 liters of water can be saved per 1 ton of cotton recycled. That’s pretty cool!

In addition to being fun and creative, knitting has health benefits. Once you get beyond the initial learning curve, knitting and crocheting can lower heart rate and blood pressure and reduce harmful blood levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
